One thing I've learned from my visits to many different art groups is that everyone has a unique way and rate of learning. In my development as a professional artist, I've also come to realise that we don't learn without making mistakes and these can sometimes make the biggest impact on our learning. The process of trying something and seeing if it works can be exciting but daunting at the same time and having the courage to develop this process is what I try to teach.
STRUCTURE OF A WORKSHOP
My workshops use this method, encouraging experimentation and trying things that can often push students in a positive direction.
Each workshop starts with a brief overview of the subject and an outline of what we will try to achieve. Subject themes can be discussed and agreed on during initial communication.
My workshops are designed to teach the basic principles of a particular subject so they can be applied in the future by each individual. I share the knowledge and experience of my time as a professional artist, gained from years of experimenting with various methods and techniques.
Learning must be fun and enjoyable otherwise it doesn't work efficiently. All workshops are structured with this in mind, catering for all capabilities and personalities. Workshop themes have been chosen from listening to what people want to learn and of course, any suggestions for additional workshops will be considered.
Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or to request a workshop for your group.
