Workshops For Art Groups

Book One Of Michael's Workshops

Through visiting many different art groups, Michael has seen first-hand that everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace. Throughout his development as a professional artist, he has also come to understand that real learning happens through experimentation — and that mistakes often become the most valuable part of the process.

Trying new approaches can be exciting yet daunting, but building the confidence to explore, adjust, and develop is at the heart of Michael’s teaching style.

Structure of a Workshop

Each workshop encourages hands-on experimentation in a relaxed, supportive environment, helping students push their creativity in positive and meaningful ways.

Sessions begin with a short introduction to the subject and an outline of what will be covered. Themes can be discussed and agreed in advance, allowing workshops to reflect the interests of the group where possible.

Rather than focusing on copying finished paintings, the workshops teach the core principles behind each subject — skills that students can continue to apply long after the session ends. Michael shares techniques and insights developed over years of professional practice and exploration.

Above all, learning should be enjoyable. Each workshop is thoughtfully structured to suit a range of abilities, learning styles, and personalities, ensuring everyone feels supported and inspired.

Workshop themes have been shaped by feedback from past participants, and suggestions for future workshops are always welcome. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a workshop for your group, please feel free to get in touch.
